Diane Stewart


Diane is a playwright currently based in Fife, Scotland. Her work as been performed at the Traverse Theatre, Outwith Festival, Theatre Royal York and by the Lyceum Youth Theatre, amongst others.

Her play Bones, Bogles and Coronets (directed by Catherine Expósito) was performed in Dunfermline Abbey as part of their Bi-Centenary events.

Mixtape/up has been shortlisted for the Young Pleasance Playwriting Competition in 2018 and was performed as part of Words in Progress.

Diane is part of Playwrights’ Studio Scotland Mentoring Programme for 2019 and is developing a new play.

Upcoming Shows

Where the Land Meets the Sea for Strange Town Theatre will be performed at the Scottish Storytelling Centre on the 21st and 22nd of June 2019.

In a flooded city the young people have claimed a place as their own.

Spilt in two, they are divided. But a creature from before is out there, lines will need to be crossed, if not a life could be lost.

Directed by Ellen Shand.

Performed by the Friday 11-14s youth theatre group.

Drama Facilitator

Diane has worked with Limelight Youth in Dunfermline and Millennium Stage School in Livingstone as a drama facilitator. She has also taught workshops at Gymnasium Wendelstein in Germany.
